The Journey from CAD to Reality
Our journey began in the world of CAD (Computer-Aided Design), where the foundations of the RTR Spec 2 took shape. Collaborating closely with our friends at Ford, we harnessed the power of CAD data to lay the groundwork for what you're about to witness. Fast forward, and we got our hands on an early build vehicle – an engineering unit from Ford. This marked the transition from digital to tangible, as we delved into the intricate process of 3D printing, test fitting, and eventually moved on to tooling, prototyping, and production.
Front-End Transformation
The most striking metamorphosis graces the front of the Mustang RTR Spec 2. The revamped aesthetic is a feast for the eyes, blending form and function seamlessly. Gaze upon the LED air intakes – a design innovation that not only exudes visual appeal but also serves a crucial purpose. These LED Air Intakes channel a stream of fresh air directly into the dual intakes of the 7th Generation Mustang.
Designed with Purpose
The journey of innovation doesn't end there. We've reimagined our signature grill lights, infusing them with newfound functionality. The result? A blend of aesthetics and engineering excellence that takes the RTR Spec 2 to new heights. A nod to the classic tri-bar Mustang lights is apparent, with a contemporary twist that symbolizes air's graceful movement into the vehicle.
Accelerated Pill Pattern
Intricate details matter, and we've stepped up our game up with the "accelerated pill pattern." This textured design element adds depth and dimension to the front end, creating a dynamic visual effect that conveys motion even in stillness. Every line and contour has been meticulously crafted, resulting in a harmonious blend of style and substance. The accelerated pill pattern design can be found throughout the front fascia as it flows from the RTR Upper Grille, Lower Grille all the way to the Corner Grilles.
Lower Grille Innovations
The RTR Lower Grille fuses style and performance. It retains cooling ducts from performance pack equipped Mustangs, seamlessly integrating form and function. Whether you're seeking enhanced brake cooling or a touch of extra flair, this is the embodiment of engineering excellence.
A Chin Worth Noting
Boldness reaches its peak with our aggressive RTR Chin Splitter design. A modern masterpiece, this component not only elevates the Mustang's aesthetic but also contributes to front downforce, optimizing performance and control. The optional RTR Undertray Extension smooths airflow between the RTR Chin Splitter and OEM Belly Pan to further enhance lift reduction and added stiffness.
Head Turning Style and Performance
From every angle, the RTR Spec 2 turns heads. Traditionally, the Mustang RTR has had the same style graphic since it’s infancy. To match the more modern style of the 7th Generation Ford Mustang, we decided to update our graphics package to match. The RTR Speed Block design has been used on our competition ready Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD’s that compete in the Formula Drift Championship. We have carried over a similar design to the production Mustang RTR lineup.
The Mustang RTR Spec 2’s aggressive stance is achieved thanks to the RTR Tactical Performance Suspension System. Our RTR Tactical Performance Suspension is an orchestration of components that seamlessly work together or improve vehicle performance individually. The RTR Spec 2 is equipped with Tactical Performance Lowering Springs, Adjustable Shocks/Struts, and Front/Rear Adjustable Sway Bars that are designed to empower you with the perfect balance for any driving scenario.
Rolling Forward
Wheels play a pivotal role in performance and our RTR Aero 5 wheels make a statement. With a 20 by 9.5-inch size all around, these wheels are the epitome of perfection, maximizing the Mustang's presence. Paired with the Nitto NT555 G2 tires, this dynamic duo is the ultimate fusion of grip and durability, designed to excel whether you're cruising the streets or conquering the track.

The interior experience is elevated by the state-of-the-art digital display. Powered by the Unreal gaming engine, this touchscreen seamlessly melds classic style with cutting-edge technology. And let's not forget the electronic drift brake – Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Chelsea DeNofa helped create this feat of Ford’s engineering prowess that offers a dynamic way to add more excitement to your Mustang driving experience.
