Mustang Week is one of the largest gatherings of Ford Mustang owners and enthusiasts, and this year's event in Myrtle Beach, SC, was no exception. From high-octane drift demos to casual car shows with fellow Mustang lovers, we contributed to the energy, excitement, and passion that Mustang Week is known for. Read on for a day-by-day breakdown of our action packed week!
Wednesday
Retro Meet at Suck Bang Blow
We kicked off Mustang Week with one of our favorite events—the Retro Meet at Suck Bang Blow. Vaughn Gittin Jr. wowed the crowd by drifting his 2024 Mustang RTR Spec 5-D alongside Ben Hobson, who showed off his skills in the Fun Haver Foxbody. Before the drift demo sesh, Vaughn brought out the Mystichrome Mustang RTR Spec 3 for a quick burnout and donuts, setting the tone for the rest of the adrenaline-filled drift session.
Several lucky Mustang owners were given the opportunity to ride along with Vaughn and Ben, with a few even being chosen straight from the crowd! Vaughn also joined in the festivities by assisting with the Retro Meet costume contest before firing up the Mustang RTR Spec 5-D for the burnout competition, making for an unforgettable kickoff to the week.
Thursday
Friends of Ford Cars & Coffee and the K1 Challenge
Thursday morning began with a relaxed vibe at the Friends of Ford Cars and Coffee event at the House of Blues. We showcased the Mystichrome Mustang RTR Spec 3, the 10th Anniversary Mustang RTR Spec 5, and Vaughn’s personal Mustang RTR Spec 3. Vaughn even brought his two sons along to check out the event.
Later in the afternoon, Vaughn and Ben joined the K1 Challenge, competing against Mustang enthusiasts and professional drivers like Jack Roush Jr. and Chad Finchum. When they weren't racing karts, Vaughn and Ben mingled with fans, sharing stories and laughs. Vaughn capped off the event with a win in the final race of the evening, proving that the RTR spirit is all about winning on and off the track.
Friday
Car Show And RTR Party at The Hangout
Friday is traditionally the busiest day of Mustang Week for us. The day started bright and early with the car show, where Vaughn and Ben kicked things off in the Mustang Week VIP area by signing autographs and meeting fans. Vaughn also participated in a discussion panel with Ford’s Youth Initiative Program, sharing insights and inspiring the next generation of automotive enthusiasts. Shortly after Vaughn and Ben went over to the RTR display for their very own autograph session/meet and greet with our fans.
As the day turned into night, we headed to The Hangout at Broadway at the Beach for the RTR Party—a highlight of the week. We invited 15 RTR owners and enthusiasts to display their Mustangs inside The Hangout, creating an exclusive RTR showcase. The atmosphere was electric as fans shared their passion for Mustangs in a casual, social setting. Unlike last year’s memorable burnout, Vaughn kept things revved up but smoke-free, wrapping up the evening with some revs from his 2024 Mustang RTR Spec 5-D.
Saturday
Mustang Week Cruise In
We closed out Mustang Week with the Mustang Week Cruise-In, a more laid-back version of Friday’s car show. The relaxed atmosphere provided the perfect opportunity for Mustang enthusiasts to wind down and reflect on the week’s highlights. It was a fitting end to one of the most exciting events on our calendar, as we mingled with the Mustang community, checked out the latest Mustang trends, and said our goodbyes until next year.
