Vaughn Gittin Jr.'s 2024 Formula Drift Livery
For the 2024 season, Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD and Spec 5-D will feature a striking and innovative livery that builds on the themes of previous designs while introducing fresh elements to create an eye-catching visual appearance. The design is a culmination of many ideas that evolved into a dynamic and unexpected final product. The livery retains the galaxy theme from last year but amplifies it with more vibrant elements.
The front of the car incorporates facets of blue chrome, a nod to the Mach-E 1400 Faroe Islands livery. These facets are complemented by a blue and purple iridescent background, giving the car’s nose a striking visual effect.
Each side of the car features wireframed galaxies to maintain some consistency from last year’s livery design. However, these have been enhanced with additional accents to align with the new liveries of team members James Deane and Ben Hobson, creating a cohesive yet individually distinctive look across the team's vehicles.
The roof of Vaughn’s Mustang RTR features NASA imagery from the James Webb Space Telescope, representing a direct connection between the car’s high-speed performance and the grandeur of celestial bodies. This design choice serves as a tribute to the art and science of space exploration. Highlighting how exotic elements, such as titanium, gold, carbon fiber, and magnesium are used in motorsports and indeed in the car’s construction. These elements trace their origins back to the earliest moments after the Big Bang.
Overall, the 2024 livery for Vaughn Gittin Jr. is one of the most radical and inventive designs to come out of the RTR Lab. This livery is set to be unveiled at the Mustang’s 60th Anniversary Celebration at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
