Since 2010, we’ve continuously pushed the boundaries of Mustang performance and style. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce our latest collaboration with Ford Motor Company: an exciting new enthusiast focused EcoBoost performance Mustang that promises to bring a fresh take on turbocharged muscle for a new generation of enthusiasts. This marks only the second time in Ford’s history that a performance Mustang has been co-created with an outside partner—and we’re honored to help write this next chapter in Mustang’s legacy.
Championing Mustang Culture for a New Generation
Vaughn Gittin Jr. has been integral in keeping Mustang at the forefront of the next generation’s minds for nearly two decades, representing the Mustang nameplate around the world in Formula Drift and beyond. With four Formula Drift championships under the RTR Drift Team’s belt—and years spent connecting with fans at tracks, events, and community gatherings—Vaughn has been a champion not only on the podium but also for Mustang culture.
“I'm pumped to have the opportunity to create what we believe is the most exciting turbocharged Mustang ever,” said RTR President and Founder Vaughn Gittin, Jr. "This Mustang RTR is pure accessible fun, with many enhancements, including Mustang Dark Horse components, Mustang EcoBoost’s near-perfect weight distribution, and RTR’s signature styling, it’s ready for drifting, drag racing, back-road cruising, or ripping around an autocross track. The new Mustang RTR is truly Ready to Rock.”
Since this is a preview of what’s to come, the RTR Design Team created a unique livery for this vehicle that took inspiration from the “dazzle camouflage” patterns used on early 1900s battleships. This livery interweaves running pony logos, RTR logos, and pops of Hyper Lime accents.
Get Ready to Rock: The Next Era for Mustang Is Here
Over the years, we’ve teamed up with Ford on countless motorsport projects and demonstrator vehicles. In one of our most recent collaborations, we helped develop the class-exclusive available drift brake for the 7th Generation Mustang. This electronic drift brake delivers everything we love about a traditional hand brake while putting even more tire-smoking, corner-sliding action in the hands of Mustang drivers across the world.
By blending Ford’s engineering prowess with our passion, we’re making the high-adrenaline world of performance driving more accessible than ever. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or hitting the track for the first time, the Ford Mustang RTR is all about embracing the drive and having an absolute blast behind the wheel.
“From Mustang GTD to Mustang Dark Horse to the new Mustang RTR, there’s a high-performance pony for every Mustang fan and customer,” said Jim Baumbick, Vice President, Ford Product Development. “The RTR team has so much passion and experience on and off the track that we’ve partnered to develop the most exciting, enthusiast-focused EcoBoost Mustang ever.”
This Is Just the Beginning, Stay Tuned for More
We are excited to welcome the Ford Mustang RTR to the stable alongside our current pre-title RTR Mustangs built on the GT platform. Through this collaboration with Ford, we can offer various performance Mustangs that fit automotive enthusiasts' lifestyles.
Whether you’re a long-time Mustang enthusiast, an emerging drift fan, or a thrill seeker looking for everyday excitement in a turbocharged package, the new Ford Mustang RTR is designed to make you feel right at home behind the wheel.
This preview is just the beginning—more details on specs, features, and official availability will be released in the future. In the meantime, we invite you to join us in celebrating the next era of Mustang performance with us. We couldn’t be more excited to share what’s coming, and we’re confident you’ll be just as stoked as we are once you get behind the wheel. I’ve been racing my 2015 EcoBoost Mustang for 6 years, racked up over 240 closed course days and 145,000 miles. These are phenomenal driver’s cars. Take care of it, and it takes care of you.
When I met Vaughn and told him about my experience, we clicked. He got what I was doing and was excited for it. I’m so glad his group embraces this platform and created this special package for anyone to enjoy!
